GIRLFRIENDS:

A NOT SO STRAIGHT PLAY

Why get breakup bangs when you could cross the country with a stranger? Travel with two “girlfriends” across the American landscape in a 98 Honda Civic in 2014 with $200. Watch while they explore everything from sex to sandstone to Shakespeare to singing for gasoline, and see if they ever reach the peak of their truth. For when you don’t yet know how to heal, but you know how to drive. With successful shows at WOW Cafe Theatre with Letter of Marque Theatre Co, to a sold-out Girlfriends WEEKEND at NYC’s Off-Off Broadway El Barrio’s Artspace, Opera America, and Houghton Hall. To appear in El Barrio’s Shakespeare Festival in the fall, and planning for Edinburgh Fringe in the summer.

Written and Performed by Sara Malinowski, Music Tracks with Piano by Avery Bargar

With a bit of help from Shakespeare, Bob Dylan, Norah Jones, Joni Mitchell, Gene Autry, Delilah, and Peggy Lee.

MUSIC

From Norah Jones, to Peggy Lee, to Joni Mitchell, enjoy crossing the country with a Honda Civic’s radio.

SHAKESPEARE

Even for people who don’t like Shakespeare. For those who believe it can keep away bears.

TRUE STORIES

That sometimes even surprise the teller. And how much truth can one person’s version even tell?
